The Duel Film Review

The Duel film which is presented by Literature RPM Team from Literature class of English Literature Department of IAIN Surakarta. This film directed by Nur Rochim Adiyanto. The Duel film adapted from Maupassant’s The Duel book written by Heinrich von Kleist.

In this film tell us about the struggle of Heri’ Family who wants safe the city and the gang who empowered the city and want make all of women in the city become a slave. Jezz is leader for the gangster. One day he and his guard want to find a women for make them a slave but Heru’s friend Heru prevent them. Heru mixed up with Jezz guard and he fall. Then Heri come to save Heru. He battle with Jezz gangster but Heri lose and he make into a slave. Heri always serve Jezz Gang. He want to out from that gangster and he challenge Jezz to the Duel. If Heri win all of the gangster must out from this city and release all woman slave but if heri lose , he will always become the gang slave forever. Then the duel has began. Heri succesful kill Jezz but Merry, Jezz’s partner kill Heri from behind him with the knife. And Finally, both of them was killed. And the gangster still infest in the city.

In this film there are many mistakes that we have to correct together. In this film the sound is so little volume for the conversation. And then :

In the film it spell “Hour” it should be “Our” with slient H

Listen me it should be “listen to me”

Coconut it should be peanuts because in that scene there are eat peanuts (kacang) not coconut (Kelapa).

The actors do the conversations looks like still remembering the script of the film.

There is the word which is repeated by the actor.

There are  many tricks that can be guess.

The mother tongue is not reduce by the dubber from the conversation in the film

It will better if the soundtracks of the film is in  foreign songs.

The dubbing is not same or together with the mouth or spell from the actor.
